'Face 2 face' - abstract wooden sculpture that depicts 2 people staring at each other. Black ebonised wood with beatiful wood grains. More than 20 original wood and stone sculptures. This collection was acquired in collaboration with 'Igmar Stuer ancient objects' (Aalst - Belgium) and PSCH Antiques(Paul Bert market, Paris Saint-Ouen) Simplifying the features in the extreme, Roland LAVIANNE develops a powerful play on volumes, shapes and lines, using the light as a key construction material. Roland LAVIANNE conveying a real mastery of the balance of volumes and lines of force. The figures, immobile but dynamic, seems lost in a theatrical conversation suspended for ever.

A Burkina Faso ceremonial antilope mask, wood with traces of white, yellow and red paint. Beautiful weathered with some damage due to age (visible on the photographs). Mounted on a modern custom made metal stand. Age 1950' s and sourced in Paris from a private collection.
