Exceptional chestnut wood statue from the workshop of the Belgian sculptor Roland LAVIANNE (1948-2022). 
Height 220cm.
Anthropomorphic sculpture representing a figure carved in the natural forms of wood, his arms long-drawn along the body , chest and torso in relief , his head directed downwards to the timeless expression.
We present here one of the two largest sculptures from his workshop.

This collection was acquired in collaboration with @igmarstuer (Aalst - Belgium) and @pschantiques (marché Paul Bert , Paris Saint-Ouen) 
We present here one of the two largest sculptures from his workshop. 
Simplifying forms to the extreme, Roland LAVIANNE develops a powerful play of volumes, shapes and lines, using light as a building material.
Roland LAVIANNE translates a real mastery of the balance of volumes and lines of force, the characters, motionless and dynamic, seem to weave a theatrical conversation forever suspended.

"The faces" beautiful original artwork of 25 faces made of terracotta , all mounted on custom made metal displays.
This artwork is signed and dated 1980.

Some of the faces are slightly coloured with pigments and have pencilmarks made by the artist.The artist gives herself body and soul to show animated subjects she picks in moments of extreme lives, in expressive poses and vulnerabilities.

Heights of the heads between 14 and 23cm.
