Third son of Jean Baptiste Moreau, Auguste MOREAU (1834-1917) began sculpture with his older brother Mathurin. In 1861, he made his debut at the Paris Salon and continued to take an active part until 1910 in the Salon des Artistes Français, an artistic group of which he was a member. His realistic and graceful style is highlighted in his essentially feminine and often allegorical subjects. Numerous works in museums: Dijon, Bordeaux, Reims, Troyes . . .
